Once upon a time, there was a place called Tumblr, and it was paradise.

Oh, Tumblr still exists, technically. But on December 17th, new rules will go into effect banning adult content, and adult content includes everything from porn to (to use the phrase that is now famous among angry and sad naked Tumblr users who are about to be virtually homeless) “female presenting nipples.”

Tumblr existed and it was full of fun, free people. If you just took a little time to get to know them and you weren’t a dickhead (or didn’t have a dick head avatar or send unsolicited dick pics) you could spend hours of your day just hanging out with women and couples who were exhibitionists, or were discovering themselves, or were proud of their sexuality. Every person there would probably choose different words to describe how it answered their needs, but it was important. To lots and lots and lots of people.

And for the horny, the seekers of beauty, the lovers of huge naked boobs — the Tumblrista known as @curiouswinekitten2 was a must-follow from the get-go. She was so fun, and enjoyed interacting with her fans. She was grateful for compliments and skilled at doling out zingers to the dickheads. She liked her wine and her sex and her boobs. And about those boobs: She’d show ’em off any old day, with reason or not. Sometimes when she was in the mood for wine or sex, or sometimes just because she thought you — the Tumblr user — needed a pick-me-up. She was a sweet and generous soul with great tits (and to field the question she was asked a hundred times a day: 38DD) and she’d even flash her ass or other bits when feeling frisky. And she was often frisky — yeah, sure, it’s just a woman on social media getting her girls out but damn, @curiouswinekitten2 was the kind of woman we’d all like to know. And how about this: she hosted a theme day called “Cleavage Sunday.” Women submitted pictures of their cleavage and she posted them. It always seemed to us like a kind and thoughtful choice — sure, @curiouswinekitten2 was a Goddess of Tits (and Wine) of Tumblr, but she realized maybe not everyone was so adventurous. So she hosted one of the few theme days that didn’t require nudity, and sent the submissions (from women who perhaps, by their own standards, were being brave) out to her well-over 100,000 followers. That was nice.

While there was certainly a lot of female nudity posting to titillate male fans on Tumblr, there was also a sisterhood of positive reinforcement and mutual self-exploration. @curiouswinekitten2 liked to show her great big tits, and get compliments on them, yes, but she was also constantly praising and supporting her female Tumblr friends. We’re lavishing praise and attention on @curiouswinekitten2 here, but she’d be the first to say that she was just one of so many great women there, so many great friends with which she would laugh and flirt and stir up mischief. “Sisterhood” is really the best word we can think of for this phenomenon, and it was a privilege to witness.

We will miss Tumblr. And @curiouswinekitten2, like so many Tumblr celebs, doesn’t know where she’s going to end up, because there’s no place like Tumblr. So we will probably be missing her, and her joie de vivre, and her boobs, and her joie de boobs, unless/until someone finds a platform.

If you were never on Tumblr, maybe this doesn’t mean much to you. But if you were there, you get it. We’ve lost something that meant a hell of a lot to so many people, it’s just a sad time.
