So if you’re a girl who’s willing to get naked and you’re really really hot, back in the day when Playboy had tons of money, they’d call you in for a Playmate Test. They’d dress you up (or not-dress you up) and do your makeup and photograph you on some kind of set, just to see if you had the star quality. And then some sort of council of elders would pore over these test pictures to decide whether you were worth shooting for real, with a centerfold and everything.
Jami Ferrell’s test shoot was amazing, as you can see. The kind of photo session where you kind of had to wonder how it could be any better. Like when Bruce Springsteen recorded a bunch of demos and he liked them so much he put them out as an album (it was Nebraska).
